تراشه VS1053b يک رمزگشاي صوتي چندفرمتي است که از فرمت‌هاي Ogg Vorbis، MP3، AAC، WMA، FLAC، WAV و MIDI پشتيباني مي‌کند. همچنين مي‌تواند به عنوان رمزگذار PCM، IMA ADPCM و Ogg Vorbis نيز عمل کند. اين تراشه تمامي اين قابليت‌ها را در يک چيپ واحد ارائه مي‌دهد.
درون VS1053b يک هسته پردازنده DSP اختصاصي و کم‌مصرف به نام VS\_DSP4 قرار دارد که شامل حافظه داده، 16 کيلوبايت RAM دستورالعمل و بيش از 0.5 کيلوبايت RAM داده براي اجراي هم‌زمان برنامه‌هاي کاربر با رمزگشاي داخلي است. اين تراشه همچنين داراي واسط‌هاي سريال براي کنترل و دريافت داده، تا 8 پايه ورودي/خروجي عمومي (GPIO)، يک UART، يک مبدل آنالوگ به ديجيتال (ADC) استريوي با نرخ نمونه‌برداري متغير براي ميکروفن يا ورودي خط (يا هر دو)، و يک مبدل ديجيتال به آنالوگ (DAC) استريو است که به تقويت‌کننده هدفون و بافر ولتاژ مشترک متصل مي‌شود.
Description
The VS1053b is a multi-format audio decoder that supports Ogg Vorbis, MP3, AAC, WMA, FLAC, WAV, and MIDI formats. It can also function as an encoder for PCM, IMA ADPCM, and Ogg Vorbis. All of these features are integrated into a single chip.
Inside the VS1053b is a proprietary low-power DSP core called VS\_DSP4, which includes data memory, 16 KiB of instruction RAM, and more than 0.5 KiB of data RAM for user applications to run concurrently with any built-in decoder. The chip also features serial control and data input interfaces, up to 8 general-purpose I/O pins (GPIO), a UART, a variable sample-rate stereo ADC for mic or line input (or both), and a stereo DAC connected to a headphone amplifier and a common voltage buffer.
