This device is a single-chip USB to UART data transfer solution with integrated features that simplify design and enhance performance:
- Integrated USB transceiver: No need for external resistors, simplifying the circuit design.
- Integrated clock: No external crystal is required for operation.
- On-chip EEPROM: 1024 bytes of memory for storing vendor ID, product ID, serial number, power descriptor, release number, and product description strings.
- Power management: Includes an on-chip power-on reset circuit and a voltage regulator that provides a 3.3V output.
- USB functionality: Fully compliant with USB 2.0 specifications, supporting full-speed (12 Mbps) data transfer, and allows for suspend states via SUSPEND pins.
- Asynchronous UART interface: Supports all handshaking and modem interface signals with configurable data formats (5-8 data bits, 1-2 stop bits, and multiple parity options). Baud rates range from 300 bps to 1 Mbps.
- Buffers: Equipped with a 576-byte receive buffer and 640-byte transmit buffer.
